"Hooshang participates in Holiday Arts Tour"

  Hooshang Studio -- the in-home showroom of Hooshang Khorasani -- will be open during the annual Holiday Arts Tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7-8.
More than 50 artists at businesses, galleries and studios throughout Lincoln Parish are participating in the 12th Annual Holiday Arts Tour, hosted by the North Central Louisiana Arts Council. Tour participants can follow a tour guide map with all of the locations marked, along with a list of tour stops and the addresses. The tour guide can be printed off of the Web site, www.nclarts.org, or picked up at Dixie Center for the Arts or at most tour stops, including Hooshang Studio. The tour features paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, music, literature and other designs of local and regional artists.
Hooshang will be featuring his original abstract mixed media work and his equine series of running horses. Other genres available include florals and a study of ladies wearing hats. Prints are also available of many of the paintings.
Also this weekend, one of Hooshang's paintings is in the 18th annual Benefit Art Auction for the Attleboro (Mass.) Arts Museum. An exhibit in connection with the auction was on display at the museum from Oct. 23 through Nov. 5; the live auction is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7.
His painting, "The Road Not Taken," is 36-by-36 inches mixed media on canvas and, along with other auction items, can be viewed at www.attleboroartsmuseum.cmarket.com. He also participated in the 2008 auction. In other news, he also recently added two more galleries to the list of those who carry his work: Brunner Gallery in Covington and The Cottage Gallery in Laguna Beach, Calif.
