Artist Statement:
I draw because it is pure excitement to watch a figure come to life or to see a structure begin to come “off the paper.” My intent is to produce a rendering that is realistic, detailed and accurate. I choose subjects because I have some emotional connection to them.

Susan Leake
Susan Leake Visited your gallery. Most impressive!
llaurel cutty Hello! I stumbled on your site today. I am on a borrowed computer because I don't have a computer of my own. So I may never be able to make contact again. I am so excited to see that something like this exist. I too am a colored pencil artist. I have one gallery award and have won awards in the blind division at the county fair. I am struggling with many illnesses now, but previously have sold my artwork. I like to do exstensive detailed landscapes, flowers, some animals, still lifes of food and birds. I too just love lighthouses and the ocean. because I am legally blind, I have to use a magnifying glass to aid my eyes in drawing. I have , in the past, done oils and pastels, and watercolors also. But because of circumstances in life, I must stick with just colored pencil for now. I use prismacolor brand. I love the versatility of this brand of colored pencil. Maybe someday I will have a computer of my own and be able to see this site again and communicate with the artist about their art interest and their opinions about their medium. I don't
Loretta Parham Hi Ron! Just went through your portfolio again and still in love with a few pieces. Gotta say that hands in her hair and red drape are favorites except I can't get past the hands on each, they are a little difficult.
Hope all is well with you. I hung our work in the kitchen next to the refrigerator so we see it everyday and think of you as often. Take care.
Meghan Dwyer Hi Ron - This is Meghan Dwyer, Henry Mincke's granddaughter. I was Googling Poppy's name and stumbled across your page. I love the picture of the nurse and wounded soldier. Poppy took me to see the Wall a few times (I really loved our D.C. trips and am anxious to go back), and that was by far one of my favorite things to see. I took so many pictures of it Poppy said we might as well have taken it home with us for the price it cost to have all that film developed...
It really was very nice to see your drawings. The delicacy of the line work is just beautiful.
I hope you're doing well. We're all hanging in over here.
Yours,
-Meghan
