Artist Statement:
In my artwork, I seek to
celebrate life: the simple and
spectacular images all around
us. Art patrons admire my
intense use of color and
texture to enhance daily life
and communicate my emotional
reaction to beauty. I consider
my style to be unique to me
but I have been influenced by
the work of Paul Cezanne,
Vincent Van Gogh, Claude
Monet, Pierre Bonnard and Jan
Vermeer. I am currently an
Assistant Professor of Art at
Radford University where I
have taught for sixteen years.
I primarily create large
impasto oil paintings, but I
also work in pastels. I have
paintings in private
collections in eleven
different states. My art has
been exhibited throughout the
USA, and I have won local,
national & international
awards in both mediums,
including awards from Dorothy
Gillespie, May Stevens, Frank
Webb, and Daniel Greene. ...

Artist Reviews:
At the Artist's Reception at

well-known artist and author
Frank Webb was extremely
enthusiastic about Kendall's
work and made the remark that
there was not one square inch
in her paintings that were not
the result of weaving of oil
paint. Her ...

Kendall,I e njoyed my visit to your gallery! The paintings of the mountains were my favorites, would be that most of the sold ones were the ones I liked the best.

Scott Weidensaul
Kendall -- Lovely work! I especially like the pastels, an old favorite of mine back when I was doing art. I've been out of touch with Clyde for a while, but it's great to see what you've been up to. Best, Scott Weidensaul

Bill Beamer

as another artist, i very much like your work! i do landscapes that also have a lot of movement in them. your work is very nice, hope you sell a lot!

Carin-Anne Greco
Hey there Kendall!, I was glad to get your message. I thought maybe it had gotten lost or that you didn't remember who I was. Wow, you have a lot of beautiful paintings on your site. I really miss the Blue Ridge mountains and your paintings make me wish I was there. I envy you the courage to get your work out there in the public on websites and in galleries like a real artist. At Disney, when a production finishes, all my work is gathered up and put in a vault somewhere, most likely never to be seen again. It's wierd. You're right about the images appearing light. I wonder why that is. I wish I could have seen them in real life. I think I like your wide sweeping landscapes best. It might just be the way the computer is showing them or it might be thats what I see in my mind when I think of Virginia. I also like the two portraits of Alan and Clyde. As a story artist they speak to me. I think I've used up all my space.Take Care, Carin-Anne

Christy

Bon Jour, mon amie!Comment-allez vous? Tres bien, mais oui?Paris was like a dream -- I can still picture so many beautiful scenes in my mind's eye...I am quite impressed with your paintings...some of them remind me of Manet's style.Hope to see you in the future when Richard and I visit Jeannie and Richard. Hello there. I came across your name on my homepage and decided to browse through your work. I'm glad I did. I admire the grandeur of nature in your paintings. Beautiful!

I find it a strange quirk the first painting I was interested in was just sold to Sue Carrington (!). Lovely work.
