Artist Statement:
Dayan originates from
France,but immigrated to the
United States in 1997.Since
that time,his work has been
exhibited several times.

In 2001 he won 2nd place for
"Window Concept
Painting",sponsored by the
Bureau Of Cultural Affairs of
Savannah Ga.Now he is
exhibiting for the first time
on the "old continent".

I will tell you briefly how
Dayan,in his own words,came to
painting.It reminds me a
little of the Italian
Renaissance,Michelangelo.Dayan
says an angel appeared to him
and said to him to become a
painter.

Thereupon,he hurried to the
nearest department store,where
he purchased paint and brushes
and began to paint. In the same
manner,Cellini writes in his
autobiography that an angel
appeared to him while
imprisoned in a Roman castle
and instructed him to strike a
crusifix from marble,wich is
still to be admired today in
the Prado Museum of
Madrid.Dayan howewer,was
dissatisfied with what he
painted and burned his first

Dayan does not paint naturally

does paint with speed and
obsession.He paints rather...

I have found you again! I saw your work when you were in Savannah and have wished ever since that I had purchased one of your paintings at that time. I love the colors and movement in your paintings. You had a painting called Card Players that I remember quite well. And once called Mr. R...' Library. And your wonderful biblical series. And the Mozart in Vienna painting. Please let me know the next time you have an exhibit in the US.

Abraham Michael thank you for taking pictures of your work and putting them on the internet. What type of camera system did you use? Digital or 35 mm? Hope to see more of your work soon as you develop more art. If you have time please visit my website at www.atelier94.com

Dear Dayan,I am much impressed by your style. You are very close to Kandinsky,, Kupka and many cubist Painters. You created a style of your own and refined it so well that even earliar artists may amazed to see your work. Your themes, composition and colors are very effective. If you get an opportunity do visit website www.artistman.netWith best wishes.

I am so excited to have found your web space. I purchased a painting of your's several years ago that was a landscape of the Savannah river walk area. I admire it today just as much as the day I bought it. It seems as though I find something new and unique every time I stop to look. Thank you for your creative gift to our society! As another guestbook visitor has already mentioned, I too remember the card players, especially the vivid green backdrop and wish, like anything, I had snatched it up when I could.

I am living in Houston, Texas now and have your artwork proudly displayed. My son,Wynn,is still enjoying the huge painting of the King and Queeen he purchased from you. He sold the castle but could never give up the painting of the queen and king.
