VANITIES SERIES - 1920 & 30'S
FIGURATIVE (PAGES 1-7)

With great love & in memory of
my Dad, John E. Turgeon

I am a storyteller. In the
‘isms’ of art, my VANITIES
work is narrative.

In their execution, I am most
concerned with the conveyance
of the inner rumblings of the
psyche. Real people, placed in
the unreal period of the
affluent and not so affluent
1920’s and 30’s.

We are, each different; each
the same. Some people hide
behind the trappings- others,
merely trapped.

I give you color and texture,
emotionally and visually, to
be captured by the ‘mind’s
eye’.

Some stories are not for
everyone, but… all stories are
for thinkers.

Dear Helene!Your paintings are wonderful! i love your technique! The romance of a by-gone era! awesome! I wish I had known of your work when I had my interior design business on cape cod! I can think of homes and situations, your work would have fit perfectly! Congratulations on a gift from god that you have expressed with excellence! Sometime I would love to see the REAL McCOY! How close are you to Santa Barbara?I usually go out in Nov. when my twin granddaughters celebrate birthdays on Veteran's Day!Heading to bed - finally!Chiao, gina

I really enjoyed viewing your work. I like your ladies. The painting to me has a taste of deco period. I rather like that. They also reminded me of Hopper, in that his people were always looking at something too. I really enjoy the way you work with color. Your composition in all look really well thought out. I am an art sudent. I look forward to seeing more of your work. You look like you really have a good time with it. A fan, Mary
