Tom LundLack The most amazing skill with pastel that I have ever seen, almost photographic love to see an original. Good luck with your work whcih is very different from mine.RegardsTom
David Patterson Hi John, We are almost neighbors (I'm in Tacoma). I love your nudes, and it was nice to see someone doing them with soft pastels. Your technique is close to mine - although mine is not quite as refined as your's. I only started using soft pastels a few months ago, so I'm still experimenting with the medium. I'm just getting back to my art after 30 years of trying to make a living in aerospace - it's about time...I know! I would love your opinion, good or bad, on my work. My pastel, Afternoon Nap is what I feel is my best soft pastel piece - the digital photo of it does not show the foreground and background very well, so it tends to look like it's floating, but it really isn't. The following is where my portfolio is located: http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/p/pattrsnd/
Kumiko M John, you are a very refined realistic painter. I enjoyed viewing your amazing techniques in both your pastels and oil paintings. I particularly like your works called “ A Good Egg” and “Brown Couch”. Beautiful works!! Wish you the best. www.kumiko-art.com
Brad Michael Moore Kumiko M - you took the words right out of my mouth over, “A Good Egg,” and “Brown Couch.”... John,Your work surely grabs one's attention – I recognize that’s the nature of successful trompe l'oeil’s – take one, then second take. I’m sure these are works that must be seen in person to truly best appreciate. Best luck and continued success.
O.P.Joshi Master pieces in pastel and oils. One can creat such realistic works with pastel colors is unblievable. Congratulations Mr. Vistaunet. You observe the female beauty in very creative way and recreate it in very attractive way. Compostion and colors are superb.
Davinia Hart Your creations are extremely beautiful. Best wishes, Davinia Hart.
Gustavo Garcia John, your work is the best I have seen in along time. My eye dances seamlessly over the work. Great job.
Ushanov Sergey It is masterful.
