ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Where does a painting begin and where does it end? Sometimes it ends abruptly because of an unexpected edge, maybe an edge with a surge of color that just may interpret my mood at the very moment it evolved. Painted collage, “papier’ colle’, is a freeing of the soul, a ride through reality on broken edges. Sometimes these edges take on a life of their own. Riding through abstract color fields, stopping only to pick up a lost fragment of emotion.
Emotion of color. In my painting color takes on emotion. As my hands move across the surface I can feel the energy as each turn of color grabs a space to eternalize a hidden emotion in paint.
The Square of Life is a painting that was created through emotion of color, every nuance of space is filled with sensual color. Edges become caretakers of color. Color becomes boundaries for edges. To create this way is a freeing of the spirit. My heart travels on many levels with color and edges becoming the vehicle to carry the realities into the abstract, the abyss.
Squares can take on a life of their own. So often when I paint, ...

ELOE Stunning , beautiful work... Sensitive and illumined. Thank you. Please don't ever give up. I believe you have a deep well to draw on.
lauren wow, I have to say how inspiring your work is. I'm a painter as well and lived in upstate NY (Ithaca) for 4 years but never felt the beauty of the earth/hills as you do. Great work - no need to keep flash on digital it leaves a big flsah spot in the middle obscuring wonderful color! all the best -lauren

Bill Roberts Linda is one of those people who has immediate impact in all the right ways. She is warm, sincere, observant, sensitive and abundantly talented as well as funny. She is completely authentic in a world that often does not appreciate a person of character, resilence and principle.
Linda will forever be a 10 in my book.
