Artist Statement:
Art presents humanity new ways of seeing and communicating -
an ever evolving tradition I consider myself privileged to be a part of. I love the challenge of creating my view of the world, from mind to hand to canvas and paper.
I have a BFA degree from Boston University School of Fine Art,
Boston, Mass. I was a painting major. My youth was spent in Easton, Pa . where my father was a professor at Lafayette College. I was fortunate to have access to many cultural programs and exhibits the college afforded, plus easy access to the galleries and museums in New York City and Philadelphia. These advantages had significant impact and assisted me in moving forward as an artist.
I used soft pastel for the first years of my career and focused on
the figure and interiors and on French urban and country scenes.
The work has been exhibited at many solo shows at the Hahn
Gallery in Philadelphia, Pa and in group shows at the Nan Miller
Gallery in Rochester, NY., at the Woodmere Art Museum, Phila
delphia, Pa, Boston University, Boston Mass., WXXI Fine Art
Auction , J,Barrett Galleries, Toledo, Ohio and the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, NY.

David Patterson Hi Reif,I love your art, especially your pastels. Your landscapes are so well balanced and colorful. I just started using soft pastels a few months ago...still learning the medium, but love working with them. I'm starting to do more landscapes/seascapes instead of portraits, and hopefully will post a few more photos of them in the near future. I would love to know what you think of my work. Good luck to you Reif! http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/p/pattrsnd/
Jennifer Kuhl I own many pieces of Reif Snyder's work, and I will simply never have enough. Her work is so beautiful, and her pieces come alive with life and light. Her ability to bring different shades of light into her paint colors is so beautiful! Perfectly balanced, you find yourself looking into one of her pieces many times through out the day. Wonderful, peaceful places, that you wish you could step into and be there yourself. Every piece is different, yet similar in structure. You can smell the wind and feel the sun. You are transported to a place where perfection and peace live, and it holds out it's essence in a silent invitation to join. Reif has such a gift, a gift that is second to none. You will never be disappointed in anything you buy. I will be a buyer for life. Thank you Reif!
Lou Posner Lovely oil landscapes! (b. Trenton, New Jersey)
Iana Sophia Hello,
I find your landscapes very beautiful, I love the atmosphere I find in them...magical!
Lisa S. I am a new fan of Reif's. I purchased my first last year at the Gasparilla Art show and have been looking forward to acquiring more. I just love the peaceful, gentle way of the landscapes and how they flow. I have become a huge fan and look forward to all the new works to come.
srilatha Dear Reif

Hélène Gléhen Hello Reif,
I admire your works with perfectly balanced colors. I like the way in which you paint the landscapes. It releases a feeling of peace, plenitude and eternity. Good luck for your next exhibitions.

Maureen Stafford Reif, I met you at the Gasparella Art Festival in Tampa Florida this year and bought one of your beautiful paintings, which I still am in love with. When are you going to put more paintings on your web site?
