I really like the statement , I feel like I have read it before. It appeals to me so much because I am 19 and constantly struggling to live in this society. I totally live in my own world of art. have you read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig?
It is still restrained by a thin web of logic that points out that without the factories there are no jobs or standard of living. But there are human forces stronger than logic there always have been, and if they become strong enough in their hatred of technology that web can break
'this kind of rationality has been used since antiquity to remove one's self from the tedium and depression of one's immediate surroundings. What makes it hard to see is that where once it was used to get away from it all, the escape has been so successful that now it is the it all the romantics are trying to escape.
