Artist Statement:
Biography
Kristine King was born and raised in London, Ontario. She later relocated to Hilton Beach Ontario in 1981 on St. Joseph Island for the next five years.
Winning first prize for a small watercolour of wild roses at the local annual horticultural show, she joined the St. Joseph Island Painting Club shortly after. The Club was run by a local painting instructor, John Keast, who schooled with and was a close friend of Frederick Varley, “Group of Seven” Artist.
Kris continued with the Club over the next two years, participating in many group shows, gallery rentals and sales, and producing works for private and corporate commissions.
Wanting more formal education, she attended the Fine Arts and Advertising Program for two years at Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology in 1986.
Her interests turned to the automotive industry and she graduated from the Motive Power Technology Course – (Automotive) in 1996 at Fanshawe College in London.
Work at import dealerships and high-end house painting were mainstays between schooling years.
Coming full circle with her art, she graduated from the Toronto School of Business, London Campus, as a Web Designer in 2001. Now residing in Lucan Ontario, Kris is working ...
