La pintura es poesAa silenciosa SimA3nides Artistic experience, as a spectator, and then, more directly, as an artist, has meant for me the possibility of transcending and reaching certain spaces that are intangible, but lived daily. As a creator, to be in front of a blank canvas or a digital image to be manipulated, is to be faced with a challenge that of translating to the language of forms, textures and colors something that has not yet been conceptualized, but that exists somewhere and that I desire to capture, expressing it through those materials and tools at my disposal. It thereby becomes a kind of game, in which time disappears and one enters into communion with the aesthetic experience with its infinity of moments, which go from pain to ecstasy. Self-taught experimentation in the field of art, has been for me one of the great pleasures of life. La experiencia artAstica ...

Stefan Fiedorowicz - The emotion in my work comes from somewhere deep down, and can speak to the inner part of each person... My work is intuitive and color is the language that I use to express an emotion. It is the interaction of colour that interests me. Painting does not come easy all the time, the more I paint the more difficult it becomes, or more exactly, the more I get stage fright. Sometimes anxiety can reach a high intensity that I get sick with it. I offer my work so that people can perhaps see some parts of themselves reflected in the work. I donaEURtmt ever stop painting in my mind. When I am lying in bed and cannot sleep I see paint moving across the ceiling and imagine it spilling and pouring as it flows through the cracks and converging in every corner. THESIS INTERVIEW WITH LYRICAL ARTIST STEFAN FIEDOROWICZ Personal Influence 1. Who are the artists both contemporary and historical that you can truly say have been a significant influence on your personal work Describe why for each artist. I would have to say that Kandinsky would be my all time inspirational artist. I have seen many exhibitions ...

Usha Kolpe - Statement of Artist Usha Kolpe An individual artist explores and gives the world a view of their personal heightened awareness. I visualize and think with keen beliefs and insights. Thought process which is highly private, subjective, unfiltered are revealed through expression and an attempt made to reveal in canvas. My art is mainly inspired by nature and my surroundings. Nature is emotionally restorative to me. It gives a sense of renewal that paves the way for my self-reflections within me and outside surroundings, for my personal growth, and spiritual evolution. NatureaEURtms changes and events profoundly healing effect just like dawn rolls out after night, spring after winter pleasure and pain of every seasonal events that heal the wounds of life events some time with scar or without scar. These events transformation into meaningful new light and beautiful dimensions to life resulting in resilience, defiance and reverence to all life forms. Lifeforce resourceful elements, water, air, fire, space, earth, sun, moon, planets, stars, their transformation to mountains, rivers, lakes, clouds, plants, animals, the gifts endowed to human life. Engelina Zandstra - In the labyrinth of my thoughts there are many roads that are leading to the unknown. many roads are leading to the unknown - around every corner a surprise - fata morganas unprecedented views - paintings designed according to laws of their own. ...

William B Hogan - Statement My paintings are inventions form my imagination and start where my mind, eyes, conscious and unconscious meet. I start by sketching ideas that inspire my imagination and design them into a composition of my unusual visual reality. With pen and ink on 8x11 paper I sketch my ideas until I reach a satisfactory visual compositional solution. Transforming a blank canvas has always been a magic, challenging and exciting journey. My images in composition always seems to be in some state of magic and discovery. The magic begins by taking a visual idea and creating a composition that embraces my ideas on a blank surface and the creative discovery is building the painting with color one brush stroke after another until my idea meets my visual reality. The last brush stroke of my finished painting is the stimulus to begin the journey of another. Biography When I was in 6th grade I won a competition to do the cover for the Christmas pageant. The size was 5 12 x 8- 12, vertical. I drew the driver sitting in a sleigh wearing a cap with ear flaps, not ear muffs. It was snowing of course. I thought the flaps looked neat. ...

David Larkins - Ii?1/2ve always been intrigued by the luminosity and transparencies found in watercolor, Oil and acrylic mediums. I believe an artist must experience the painting i?1/2 to absorb the surroundings, the atmosphere, to have a oneness with the subject matter before the first brush stroke is applied. My style is described as i?1/2Abstract Realismi?1/2 and my strength is found in the composition. Ii?1/2m drawn to diverse subject matter that challenges the viewer to see abstraction in the ordinary i?1/2 to meld the i?1/2reali?1/2 world with the i?1/2abstracti?1/2. ...

John Gamache - If I come across something of interest that will be a focal point for me to build on, that excites my passion for elements of the pastaEUR"old, cast-off objects,aEUR"run down barns, old junk cars, and abandoned houses. These are the objects I collect and infuse with new life through my paintings. When I create such a piece, I wish to convey the emotions I feel for the scene or objects to the viewer. I want the viewer to be an active participant in my joy, melancholy, humor, nostalgia. Through my textures, layers, earth-tones, and choice of images, I strive to convey these feelings. To me, the process of creating a work is transcendental I am completely lost in the making, I am part of each piece. It does take time to finish each painting as I work on several at once. Each painting is a slow build up of many layers to reach the final detailing. My goal is to create and master my craft, not just in the painting but in the feelings Ive described previously to the viewer. To elicit emotion will make the piece and my goal complete as a work of art. ...

Mac Worthington - Ben Hotchkiss - My name is Ben Hotchkiss. I am 75 years old and have been painting abstract paintings for over 40 years. My interest in art germinated in my fathers studio when I was very young. I used to watch him paint. Often, while watching him paint I would thumb thru his bools on earlier painters of the 20th Century. I especially liked those of the Expressionists,Imressionists,Cubists and Abstract Painters. I was expecially intrigued by the color plates of abstract artists. They did not depect anythingwhat did they mean. But I didnt really begin painting for another 20 years when I was down and out in a rooming house in San Francisco. I actually started doing abstract water colors . In 1980 I moved to Northampton, Ma. and discovered an Art Supply store near by. At this point I had an inspiration to switch from water colors to oils. i started on a shoe string with canvas boards, Duro oil paints and small brushes. I am still painting to this day but on masonite now. I have always been a student of visual expression. I especially like compositions of thingsi.e. many visual en entities working together to create a composite ...
