Artist Statement

The artistic world of Vladimir Simanovsky is motivated by live but predominantly by music. From his earliest childhood, when he intensely devoted himself to drowing and playing the piano, a tone of colourful vibrations of inner creative imagination has woken up in him. After having finished Secondary Artistic-Industrial School, which provided its graduates with the ABS of creave artistc resources, he carried on with studies at the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University in Bratislava, which raised his rational human thinking. The creative career of Vladimir Simanovsky has been extended by a new dimention, a dimention of space. In the late of 80s he moved to Canada, where he intensily attended to artistic creation. In 1996 he come back to Slovakia,Bratislava. By rational but also subconscious comparing of the human criterion with architectural, constructive with spiritual, real with irreal, he has appealed to painter's means of expression with a feeling that through them he can most brilliantly express his visual, rational and subconscious statuses he has systematically saved in his live. Linear compositions are,by turbit painting area's shaped into fine blocks underlined by gentle scale of warm colour tones, sharpen tention among particular colour schemes, but also between depth of space and the spectator who desires to get to the core of the action. He can make use of geometric elements{ arches, diagonals, non-primary colors} to achive a maximum shape by multiple enlarging of this forms that fit together, abrade each other and model a colourful archaic structure, nonfigurative architecture. To mention stimuli from the world’s or domestic Slovak fine art,me must refer to Kandinsky, Mondrian, Klee, De Stijl, Piccasso, as well as the Slovak artistic modern style of the 20s of the 20th century represented by Mikulas Galanda, Ludovit Fulla, but also painting by an artist of younger generation, Rudolf Fila, who was Simanovsky’s painting master. There, however, is a need to realize the considerable lapse of time that enables present painters to enrich the picture with new space dimentions and colour relations conditioned also by technological progress.Vladimir Simanovsky sticks to his inner feeling he incorporates into more global connections from which this feelings arises or with which he completely associates himself. In one picture several natural forms concurrently encounter each other: water, air, earth blaze of the burning disk of the sun evoking a blaze of fire,a spark of passion inflaming all its surroundings.
He pictures the atmosphere at the highest degree of his elusiveness in which he, symbolically said, touches music…. “Pure duration” induces a universal feeling of joyfulness and happiness. In spite of the softness of colour spots, it expresses deep inner mystique of the author of the picture.Nearly mystic inspiration has also been provided to the author by particular antique fragment’s whose shapes created impression of ancient culture.Simanovsky’s painting comprises three nature visual aspects: sensible-expresionistic-constructive- futuristic and soft area-linear in which he has painted the latest way of painting.Penetration into depth from time to time manifests itself in the significative form of mystic and religious sacramentality standing for the nature of each thinking living existence. The goal of his painting program is life in its colourful metamorphoses, in its fullness and generosity, in the welth of forms and shapes, in the depth of its expression.
